The Dear Little Sister Foundation (DLSF) ended the Year 2018 on a high note by conducting a training and sensitization forum on ways of avoiding and curbing Teenage Pregnancies amongst teenage girls in an event organized by the Kipkelion East CBO, at Kapkondor Secondary School, Londiani – Kericho County on 29th December 2018.
The event was attended by over 250 participants comprising, girls, boys and parents.
Our Founding Director, Mrs. Daisy Kosgey Mugiira who was a guest speaker, encouraged girls to focus on their education and avoid teenage pregnancies at all cost as it is a big threat to their success in life. She explained to the girls all the challenges and commitments that come along with pregnancies and subsequent birthing of babies. She narrated to the girls how difficult it is to balance between pregnancies and studies especially for the young girls. She also trained the girls, boys and the parents on the role of each player in curbing teenage pregnancies. After the training, Daisy donated several copies of her book ‘Dear Little Sister’ to a number of girls and boys. This was to equip them with the message contained in the book as well as cultivate a culture of reading amongst the youngsters.
