In the sidelines of a stakeholder’s forum in Chepseon, Kericho County. The DLS Foundation, Founding Director MS. Daisy Kosgey, conducted sensitization session with the girls of Chesinende Girls High School.
The Girls in the Extra-County School with student population drawn majorly from Kericho County and the nearby counties of Nakuru, Bomet, Nyandarua, Kisii, Kisumu and Narok among others were excited to learn a thing on various topics including; reproductive health, girlhood, effects of teenage pregnancies and child marriages, the boy-girl relationship perspective, role of academics in the lives of girls and self-branding besides focus and hard work.
Ms. Daisy Kosgey mooted for active participation in the Sister’s Keeper Clubs by the girls as a way of sustaining the ‘Motherhood Waits’ campaign.
Besides the sensitization, the Director donated Sanitary Pads to the school to support the girls’ comfortable stay in school during their menses. She also donated copies of the Dear Little Sister Book to the girls.
In closing remarks, the club’s patron Ms. Daisy Ruto emphasized to the girls to heed to the teachings given to them and appreciated the Foundation for the important role they are playing in eradicating Teenage Pregnancy and Child Marriage in the society.
